Laryngopharyngeal Reflux Eggs

living wills

Hanns Küng (19/03/1928) is a Swiss theologian vanguard
known internationally for his numerous writings critical of the Church of Rome.
recently republished in Italy "The dignity of death. Thesis Euthanasia", Rome, Datanews, 2007.

About ethics of medical care, Küng says in his book on the dignity of dying:
"What man does not have a duty to preserve one's life through exceptional means is a classic axiom of moral theology. No patient in any case has an ethical duty to undergo any therapy and any operation that prolongs its life. (...) And patients' rights to decide freely whether or not to undergo certain medical treatments. No doctor has the duty to prolong human life at any cost, thus meeting a prolonged agony. "
And then again: "No man should be forced to continue living at all costs. The law can not continue to live become a duty, the right to life does not amount to coercion to live (...). There are so many awful cases in which it is quite understandable that the patient is able to say: "My condition is intolerable. My greatest wish is to die ...". How, in such cases, a man assume the right to decide over life and death of another, forcing him to continue to live and suffer? Certainly the desire to die by the patient for the physician is only necessary but not sufficient to justify active euthanasia: the fundamental reason must be the only "good" patient, as well as himself (and not the doctor or another person) sees it. "
Moreover, "the practice of euthanasia rests solely with the doctor, who is able to provide the patient a peaceful death, not unhappy or sad, (...) the doctor should seek advice from a colleague (outside? And close relatives?) about the seriousness of the request, the correctness of the assessment of the condition of the patient and the person responsible for completion of terminal medical practices. "
words hot for our center-right government, especially after the case Eluana. Words even more pressing because they come from one of the leading experts in theology at the international level. Words that, if repeated in the interview that Lucia Annunziata asked him to TG2 (2/20/2009), passed unheeded by those who make decrees during the night to meet the dictates and orders of the dictatorial Vatican!
The details of the "theologian uncomfortable" leave no doubt on the relationship between Church and State:
- H. Küng: "There are two aspects: the legal aspect of the theological aspect. The legal aspect is that in a democratic state, the church, church authorities must comply with the laws, owe obedience to the Constitutional Court and in this sense I think the issue is decided, and I do not understand why the church put pressure on the prime minister. I hope that the Head of State rifiuti un tale intervento.
- L. Annunziata: «Questo means that you disagree with what the Vatican says about this case? ".
- H. Küng: "Mah. there is a decree of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith in 1980 where it is expressly mentioned everything I just said. I do not think so, at this point, to disagree with official doctrine. "

But the Swiss theologian's doctrinal clashes against the opportunism of the chaste Vatican are not so recent. Since 1970
Hanns Küng papal infallibility declared inadmissible. So the calls received in 1975 by the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith. In mid-December 1979, following all'inasprirsi the tone of the dispute, the Congregation declared the professor guilty of "diversion" from the "whole truth about the Church, by withdrawing the mission canonical (official permission to teach theology). It seems that, according to the authoritative voices of the Vatican curia and Bavarian archdiocese, this first sentence, which took place during the pontificate of John Paul II, convicted of high symbolic value because it faces one of the most influential members of the progressive Catholic thought, it was desired and orchestrated by Ratzinger, a colleague of Küng in Tübingen at the turn of the '68 riots. At that time, the classroom of the future pope was half empty, while the the professor's packed, since they brought forward innovative ideas that have always captured the hearts of young people.
no coincidence that Ratzinger was pleased with the decision, when he said in this regard: "The Christian believer is a simple person, and the bishops must protect their faith by the power of intellectuals." But the text that most diatribes produced no end of the program was exposed in the restoration of medieval book report on the Faith in 1985, when Ratzinger, invokes and reaffirms, in agreement with Opus Dei, the absolute power of Casta Ekklesiastica to eliminate any residue of democratic openness desired by John XXIII at Vatican II. With reference to the Report, Küng notes: "It saddens me and makes me angry with what is happening in the eighties in our Church, after the many hopes raised by the explosion in the seventies to reconcile." In particular, he wrote, in no uncertain terms: "Joseph Ratzinger is afraid. And like Dostoevsky's Grand Inquisitor, he fears nothing more than freedom. Back to the old music in Rome: a Ratzinger curial power again appears a divine privilege, criticism and opposition is not expected. (...) The "Prefect of the faith" that defends the necessity of excommunication, never ruled against criminals "Catholics" well known as Adolf Hitler and the dictators of Latin America, here is a clear threat against critics of Catholic theologians (...)
not burn any more, but if you must, you are ready to wipe out mentally and professionally. (...)
The methods are the same: the demonization of the opponent as a cause of confusion, which would disrupt the sacred order. (...) Often the use of ambiguous conflicts and false fronts, that experience anywhere close to heresy. It reflects the arrogance of power here now from the former professor denies any theological authority to the episcopal conferences (uncomfortable): (...) believes he could present to the world as embodied in the rule of orthodoxy Catholic: "La vérité catholique c'est moi [The Catholic truth I am]. (...)
comes to mind quite often proclaimed the sympathy of the Vatican for Catholics totalitarian regimes and the concordat with Hitler (1933), which still ensures the German hierarchy, legally and financially, in an untouchable position of power companies, almost a 'state within a state'. (...) The tragic silence of the German el'accondiscendenza towards Nazism (...). "
The Inquisition, therefore, only the methods have changed and the name, but not their own principles and purposes: "procedure secret, refusal vision of documents, legal aid and the appeal: the same authority as prosecutor and judge. It's back to work - Küng continues - at full capacity, especially against the North American moralists, the dogmatists of Central Europe, the African and Latin American theologians of liberation. " He claimed, moreover, dangerous interference with the Opus Dei not only in doctrine, but also financial (was still under the scandal-Calvi-IOR-Marcinkus Sindona) "is favored by all means the English secret organization Opus Dei , theologically and politically reactionary institution, mixed up in banks, universities and governments, che ostenta tratti medievali e controriformistici e che questo Papa [Wojtyla], il quale le era vicino già a Cracovia, ha sottratto al controllo dei vescovi [nominandola Prelatura personale, ossia un’organizzazione segretissima che rende conto unicamente al Papa]”.
